“Pause, Breathe, Witness. Be the silent, objective observer–watch and listen–pause in the gaps between thoughts, words, sounds.” ~ Lisa Pearlman #PearlsOfZen
Interestingly enough, after tweeting this “Pearl of Zen” today, I stumbled upon a random blog post that expressed the same truth…reposting it below…

“Only the inner silence is yours.
No-one gave it to you.
You were born with it and you will die with it
Thoughts have been given to you;
You have been conditioned to them.”

As I bathe in solitude, alone in the vastness of nature, a feeling of serenity washes over me. With every cleansing breath, I move further away from Self and settle deeper into a peaceful silence. The truth and all knowingness, the essence of pure consciousness, is all that remains. © Lisa Pearlman 4/8/12
Love is all that is real … Pure consciousness … When you tune into the vibrational energy of the Universe you are tuning into the highest vibratory frequency there is … the same wavelength that Love vibrations travel along … a continuum of Consciousness … At this level there is only Harmony - there is only the divine and holy trinity of Love/Universe/Consciousness that exists at this highest vibrational © Lisa Pearlman 3/28/12

PEACE ~ NAMASTÉ
I just answered this question on Quora: What do we desire? (My answer, I believe, is universal to all human beings) Any comments?
We desire to feel happiness through connection to another human being, to feel we belong, we are loved, we matter to someone. We desire to be free from pain & suffering, or lessen the perception/feeling of suffering. Lastly, I believe we inherently desire some sort of spiritual (not necessarily religious) connection, whether this desire be conscious or unconscious.
